“I am a master mechanic and I have a degree in mechanical engineering; I restore and customize all makes and models and I do all my own work.
I do not, however, have my own tire balancer or alignment rack...
This is where P&S comes in. Now, I do not personally know the owners of this place. I'm not even from the area.
I ordered tires from tirerack for my 94 vw passat and had them sent direct to P&S, and they don't mess around, the shop called when they got the email that the tires would be delivered and scheduled me for the day after.
I chose them not because they were cheap, or close, or friends, but because they have top of the line equipment.
It took them all morning to do my tires and alignment; but they did it perfect- something i can't say for any other shop i've been to. also, they mount each tire 3 times to get it perfect.
The balancer they have measures the imperfections in the tire and accounts for them when they're balanced... they put the tire on, measure it. take it off, put it on, measure it, then take it off and put it back on again... (3 times!) to match the highs of the rim to the lows in the tire to minimize the amount of weight that has to be added and gives that showroom perfect balance.
google hunter engineering's roadforce balancer if you don't believe me... it makes me think the negative comments from someone else on here are a jealous competitor who's using inferior equipment.
also, in the waiting area... they have TV and suprisingly good coffee”
